 Please contact Grays Hall for a free initial consultation to learn how we can guide you through the college application process.  Grays Hall prides itself on taking the time to get to know the client - by the way, the student is the client - and learning about the client's interests, strengths, hopes and dreams.  It is only by taking this time that a "good fit" college list can be formed.

The Total Package

The Total Package can be tailored to fit your year in high school. Typically, students enroll for Grays Hall services in their Junior year, but we will work with all classes. 


 

The Total Package Involves:

  • Assist with class selection
  • Discuss extracurricular activities and make recommendations
  • Conduct various surveys and career assessments as necessary to help student identify possible majors/career options
  • Review testing and determine appropriate timeline (SAT, ACT, Subject Tests)
  • Discuss how to highlight special talents
  • Help maximize college campus visits and assist in planning
  • Work on Brag Sheet/resume
  • Help with letters of recommendations (who and when)
  • Conduct a preferred college characteristics survey
  • Discuss financial aid and all its nuances with parents and student
  • Begin targeted college search based on GPA, interests and test scores
  • Provide individualized college list
  • Review all application options (Early Action, Early Decision, Regular and Rolling Admission)

Then, the summer before the Senior year, we will start meeting more often, and work on the following

 

  • Continue updating updating and reviewing extensive targeted college list to ensure right fit (academic, social and financial) schools are present
  • Analysis of likely, possible, selectivity reach and grades/score reach schools.
  • Preparation for college interviews
  • Assistance with filling out applications and proof-reading of all application materials
  • Perform scholarship searches
  • Assist with financial aid forms (FAFSA AND CSS Profile)
  • Advise regarding wait-list and accepted college choice, including evaluation of financial aid awards letters (i.e. translation!)​​
